My home is up that straight section. Last week we watched a toddler chase a ball into the street and the mother pushing a stroller had little concern. My wife said "you did that" and it took me a few moments to realize what she meant. 1/

I just watched 2 cars honk at a taxi for stopping here. It's 10:30 on a Saturday night, there's not much traffic. It's 10:30 on a Saturday night, what's the rush? Just further proof that Robie north of Young is designed as a highway and drivers treat it as such.

My councillor was trying to say that the North West Kjipuktuk Cubs would get their funding at the participatory budget and she flubbed Kjipuktuk pretty bad. I called the cub car races last spring and did the same thing. I know how it's pronounced, but I can't read it and say it at the same time.

Look who turned up at the HRM Community Ride (formerly the Annual Mayor’s Ride)? Riding on the back of the Bike Mayor’s bike. Unfortunately, as soon as he hit a few bumps in the road at the pump track, he lost his head. #bikehfx #halisky

I told councillors that they should treat any future bike ride invites from me as a threat.

I also enjoy it from this angle. Like he’s in timeout while all the happy bike people make merry behind him.

The first Deputy Mayor’s bike ride is probably the weirdest bike ride I’ve done. Didn’t expect to utter phrases like “I can just pop the mayor in my trike” and “Dan, his head is coming off, can you put it in your pannier?” This art installation brought a lot of joy to folks today! #BikeGoodMayorBad

I'd like to thank @samdraws.bsky.social for making a fantastic Andy. Her work held up very well for most of the ride (we won't talk about the pump track incident). And for asking me to be the spokes-person to get Andy around today.

Had a nice time taking Andy for a ride around Dartmouth today. I think he enjoyed it. It looks like he took some time to reflect on some of his #BikeHFX decisions.

Kids should be safe to make mistakes. Drivers shouldn’t be allowed to make them at 60 km/h. Speed cameras save lives.

On bad ankle pain days, like the ones I’m having lately, I’m reminded that my ebike makes the difference for me between getting out of the house, greeting folks on the trail, patronizing a local business and just not doing anything of those things. Ebikes are mobility aids!

Apparently when I was like 10 I got bored and made a big chain out of all of mom's paper clips. She's apparently been waiting the past 20 or so years for me to ask for a paper clip, because when I just asked for one I was just given the whole chain and told it's my problem now.
