Had a nice time taking Andy for a ride around Dartmouth today. I think he enjoyed it. It looks like he took some time to reflect on some of his #BikeHFX decisions.

The first Deputy Mayor’s bike ride is probably the weirdest bike ride I’ve done. Didn’t expect to utter phrases like “I can just pop the mayor in my trike” and “Dan, his head is coming off, can you put it in your pannier?” This art installation brought a lot of joy to folks today! #BikeGoodMayorBad

I live in Halifax, ride an e-cargo bike year round. We get a few weeks each year with -20 - -30C days. Studded tires are nice for a few icy days we get. Warm winter coat, and leather mittens and on those few days that are really cold, I wear snow pants to stay warm.

It was a beautiful day for the crowds at Agricola Open Street. HCC kept safe about 50 bikes, provided free bike maintenance by Francis from Halifax Cycles and free bike fits by physio Adrian Wong. We also distributed postcards and stickers for Cycling Guide and our new crash card. #bikehfx

I wish people would just *try* going 30 on residential streets and 40 on main roads. Once you get used to it, going faster feels dangerous (which it *is* to all the people using the streets who are not in steel cages).

The HCC crew had a great ride this morning out to Bike and Bean and back. It was a beautiful day although it started out quite cool (8 degrees when we left at 8 am). Bike and Bean and the trail were incredibly busy — at times it felt like a traffic jam.

Any chance the people of Halifax (and the councillors they elected) could maybe have a say in how Halifax is run?

A nice morning for a Dartmouth ride. Over 100 parents and kids rode from the Findlay Community Centre down to the playground at Ferry Terminal Park. Happy to have tagged along as part of kidical mass!

Usually the mayor leads this event but not this year! Maybe Andy Fillmore doesn't want to ride without bike lanes?

He went on Todd Venoitte in June and, in reference to commuting by bike, he laid out his rules: "You have to be close to where you're getting to. You have to be physically able and you have to not be afraid, I guess. So those are the three that you have to meet to be a bike rider."
