Was walking my 2yo across the road into daycare the other day. We paused as there was a driver rolling slowly in the driving lane. The driver, still rolling, waved us through. I stopped and held tight to my toddler. Sir, there is no way I’m going to walk a child in front of your moving car.

For the gardening record: today (2025 November 02) is the official end of my backyard garden cherry tomatoes. I said I wouldn’t harvest them this year, but I became intrigued by a recipe for green tomato jam. That might be tomorrow’s project.

I also want my local/national governments to be able to benefit from the lower costs of providing that infrastructure vs car infrastructure, and the health benefits/lower healthcare costs that come with increased active mobility so that they can genuinely lower taxes rather than by cutting services.

I was asked why I advocate for better active travel infrastructure, and was it because I enjoy cycling? That's not why. It's because I save thousands of pounds a year by using bikes for transport, and I want others to be able to benefit from those savings too, especially in a cost of living crisis.

#BikeHfx. I stopped to chat with staff at the Lord Nelson this morning, after getting soaked in the South Park bike lane. They are fully aware that they: 1. Aren’t following the water conservation rules; & 2. Are soaking cyclists in the bike lane. They have no plans to change either of these.

Kid lost his first tooth today, so I did a quick internet search to find out what folks are doing with their kids’ baby teeth. The AI result suggested I save them for the rich source of stem cells. 😬
