It’s a dark and cold time in so many ways. Grateful for a little meetup and ride with the

Thank you to everyone who made it out this morning — 34 on the ride, and many more at coffee! It’s a real treat to be part of a community that consistently comes together and shows up for each other the way
#bikehfx
does ♥️ 🚲 ☕️

An intense storm is bringing snow to the Carolinas coast. This storm passes just south of Sable Is overnight then south of NL Monday. Heavy snow & strong winds (outages?) over mostly the Ern half of NS tonight & early Monday. Halifax on the edge (pics); prepare for the worst but hope for the best.

I ❤️ Minneapolis This ride was incredible, especially our interactions with folks at the memorials and with neighbors cheering on from their windows/porches. ICE out, now.

morning report- Wyse was rideable, I think it’s been gone over again? But as you get to the bridge intersection it’s pretty slushy as an fyi. The mountain at the intersection is no longer a mountain: I spent a good 5 mins cutting thru it with my shovel; I thought I took a picture..

from this morning's walk. Windsor Street Lanes are... not great. Cyclists I saw were generally skipping them and riding in the main lane. They get better the further north you go. The connector path is pristine.

from my short walk. Windsor Street Lanes are clear-ish as far as I can see. Driveways have significant obstructions, though. Allan-Oak Bikeway is clear. Everything has a layer of build up on it, but it's not slippery from my own testing.

This exactly — there is nothing else in this city as routinely scrutinized as bike lanes, despite making up a minority of the cost of the city’s transportation network.

: the Halifax Shopping Centre grounds are easy to navigate by foot, car, or bike (if you can get there). Parking lots, mall roads, and sidewalks are very well cleared, plowing ongoing. I saw one cyclist heading down Stuart Graham/Leppert around 8:50. But I personally won’t be biking today!

: as of 9:00am priority 1 sidewalks such as Mumford Rd and Chebucto Rd haven’t seen a plow. There’s 15+ cm down to walk through. I saw several drivers struggling to make it up Chebucto from the rotary, and getting stuck at the lights at Mumford/MacDonald.
