High resolution images of the Long Lake Wildfire. These were taken by the Sentinel-2 satellite on July 26th, August 15th, August 23rd and September 4th where the now very large burn scar is unmistakable from space. As of today (September 9th) the wildfire is being held at 8468 hectares.

The CB mesonet rainfalls suggest a nice 18mm for the Long Lake fire in Annapolis County last night. Halifax received the most for a change.

The last time Nova Scotia, southern NB & PEI saw a substantial widespread rainfall was 2 months ago, June 7-8th, with 25-40+ mm. This departure from average map *includes* that rain & yet the deficit estimate over the past 60 days is still nearing or exceeding 100 mm for many. #nswx #nbwx #halisky

Closer look at the CoCoRaHS data shows how variable the rainfall was in the Halifax area during the month of July. Monthly July average is near 90 mm... North/west of the city saw near 30% of normal. City area 50-70% of normal. Duncan's Cove & Prospect area saw near 90% of normal. #nswx #halisky
