Saw these “fiets tellers” (bicycle counters) in Amsterdam, like this one in Rembrandtpark. They make it very clear it’s not a camera. We have counters in Halifax, too! Take that, “we are not Amsterdam.”

Got our first new @halifaxwater.bsky.social bill showing the new rates. If I understand correctly, if the new rates had been in effect for the entire three month period the bill covers, our bill would have been about $8 more over three months

Made it from home to the VG and back for a blood draw in under an hour*, because bike * was on the home stretch and had a chance chat with a friend who saw me, because bike, so my real trip time was slightly longer, but I could have done it

Probably won’t ever stop thinking about how the 2-3 Halifax councils before this one had the best chance to meaningfully change transportation here and did not.

Did a little ride to get some beans from Espresso 46. #hfxws Isleville up and down pretty good. Some slush. Filter at Young got a pass at least. And it’s warm! Was able to give my bike a rinse when I got home.

Couple updates to snowhfx.danp.net: Biggest is that if you click on a line/segment and its clearing deadline has passed, there's a "Report to 311" button that helps you craft an email with info. If you use this to report things please let me know how it goes!
