If I'm gonna ignore the humor in this, I have to point out that it's extremely common for this "driver accidentally hits gas instead brake" excuse, and if it were any other form of transportation, governments would be intervening on this deadly design issue.

I didn't get into any car crashes in HS, but many of my friends did. 3 of my high school classmates died in 2 separate car crashes between our junior and senior years. I think teenagers (and everyone) should have freedom of mobility without being forced to operate heavy, deadly machinery. 3/3

Was riding across E Perimeter Rd this AM, in line with the Bayers Rd MUP, when I heard someone shout (from the 2nd car at the red light) “GET OFF YOUR BIKE!” I ignored him, mostly because that’s my default response to men shouting in public, but also because I didn’t process what he said in time.

Due to the special weather statement, we've made the decision to cancel today's #KidicalMassHfx ride. This is our first cancellation in 4 years of rides, so we're pretty bummed about it. But, it will be June before you know it! We'll have more details for that ride soon. Stay dry today #BikeHfx.

Kids are at the grandparents’ this morning. The sun is shining. I feel alive and have free time. This can only mean one thing: It’s bike build day! Pebble’s new 20” bike, coming to a bike lane near you (if you are in Halifax.)

On my 3 mile ride home from downtown earlier today I encountered not 1, not 2… but 8 drivers parked in bikelanes. I have a hard time understanding the audacity of seeing a street with 90% of space set aside for cars (driving & parking) & deciding you *also* get to block the bikelane w/ your car.

This was kind of surreal, to see someone who is pushing back against beauty and community showing us a personal painting. Is it a bizarre attempt at connection? Main character energy?

I assume the root of the SAR comms issue is that Trump is still trying to talk to them and they still would rather not.
