I agree with this. Austerity followed by a Brexit referendum was a real one-two punch from David Cameron to the general ability of Britain to thrive. Create a bunch of disaffected, disappointed voters & then give them a means to express their unhappiness that is *disastrous* for *everyone*.

Worth noting the combined Green/Labour vote was more than double Reform. So what Goodwin is describing here ie voters mobilising to choose is “democracy”. You’d think as an academic he’d know that!
