Iāve never met a child that belongs in prison, because all children should be free. Abolish all child cages + jails + prisons (so-called juvenile halls, camps, correctional facilities, detention centers, et al.) They are an expensive stain on our community.

The inversion of electorial responsibilities by American libeerals is extremely bizarre to me. It's a mentality that Democrats cannot fail voters, the voters fail Democrats. If "your guy" didn't win it has nothing to do with the guy and everything to do with a disobedient electorate.

Working class people of all kinds have way more in common, even with all our beautiful diversity, than we have with the white supremacist capitalists that work hard to distract us from their evil by setting us against each other. Solidarity has never been so essential. Radical love is revolutionary.

This is one of my favorite stories. I wrote it during the early days of Covid when it was just me and my elderly cat. I knew she was going to die soon and the idea of facing that alone was, well, hard to face. I made it weird. I tried to make it beautiful. But it is still that horror underneath.

Itās because the goal is not safety but policing, and that has more to do with control than anything else. Groups of people gathering, the very basis of community, is by default seen as suspicious. Thatās why their preferred designs all have to do with limiting human interactions.

It should be illuminating that prosecuting sex trafficking, the thing that prosecutors and police across the country have been using as a cash cow to fund surveillance and weaponry, is actually not something government prosecutors care about at all. The system does not hold people accountable.

my takeaways reading about a bunch of horrific shit in history is that the things you want are: -to have hiding spaces -to not let the state disarm you (small arms genuinely matter even when artillery exists) -to maintain access the means of communication -to build diplomatic ties with outsiders
