Tonight's film which I'm showing to some who haven't seen it. On rewatching it's so gorgeous, both visuals and sounds. I'm appreciating Eggers as a director: lovely compositions, a grasp of natural beauty, lush sound design.

Icebreaking is about precision. Every operation in frozen waterways is deliberate. Driven by timing, judgment, and coordination in some of the most demanding operating conditions. When severe winter weather threatens our ports and waterways – from the Great Lakes to the Northeast to the Mid-Atlantic – Coast Guard crews continuously assess ice behavior, vessel movement, and environmental factors to ensure safe, reliable access where it’s needed most. This is disciplined execution. As the Coast Guard modernizes its domestic icebreaker fleet, we continue to facilitate commerce in response to ice impacts to navigation on our waterways.
