As you cancel streaming services, here is a casual reminder that only 16% of Americans read for pleasure anymore, and your local library has hundreds or thousands of books you haven't read. They would love to see you stop by and renew your library card.

Wow this scene is so suspenseful! When will something happen? Ok maybe too suspenseful? Oh I sat on the remote and paused it and I’ve been watching a still frame for two straight minutes.

"This tech isn't going away!" "This is inevitable!" "Adapt or get left in the dust!" are all things we're being told by the same people who were telling us you're going to need a blockchain dingus to unlock your front door two years ago.

My boss: Can't you get Copilot to validate the info in the spreadsheet? Me: Well, do we want it to be accurate or not? Because either I check it myself or I ask Copilot and then check its output *and* the spreadsheet, so... Boss: What's the point of Copilot then? Me: Exactly.

It's time. Amazon is pulling the plug on shared Prime accounts. I've been on my wife's for, I don't know, 15 years? Signal of dominance (because they can) or signal of fear (because they're about to get hit hard because of Trump tariffs/depression)? "Thank you for being a valued customer!" lol

It's wild how many brands do Harry Potter collabs with no pushback from their customers. Even Squishmallows is on the list now, which is very disappointing.

The *moment* chatgpt regurgitates some slop code, it becomes code the programmer has no mental model for, and definitely can't be fucked to read instead of giving it another pass through the bullshit machine. The programmer cannot maintain code, which is like 90% of what programming *is*
