I did creative writing, before lit, at two schools, and yeah. One had two guys running things who'd been pragmatic jobbing writers and they insisted on teaching how to query, submit, find listings, and get paid. Other school said fuck all about it. Luckily I got the good guys first

Yep, art degree here, great 3 years with absolutely no attention given to HOW to use it. Ridiculous.

We had 10 weeks worth of lessons in my BFA that amounted to “make a website to show off your art”. Nothing about how to direct traffic there, or how to access the kind of audience that may result in sales, just put your stuff up somewhere.
