I made a tabletop roleplaying game this week. I mean, I wrote most of it a year ago and then forgot about it… but I did all the illustration and layout this week and now it’s a real thing you can buy.

It's hilarious that "working class" now applies exclusively to the racist failsons of regional car dealership owners but every unemployed trans person is an "elite".

To the granters, foundations, large donors, etc, give operational funding! I know special project grants are sexy and make you feel like something is being accomplished. Operational funding is always needed and appreciated.

People have no idea how much it costs on a yearly basis to run a garden. Let the public know where the money comes from vs the operating costs. It'll be really eye opening. Plus it might also motivate foundations to give if it buys them public goodwill.

For the Gardens, transparency to the public in regards to your funding I think helps a lot. It's often unclear to the public visiting where the money comes from. A lot of the time it is assumed that the local municipality pays for the garden, when it's more likely a 501c3(in the USA)

Donating or memberships help if you've got the cash. Even small donations can add up and can be used to show public buy in for grant funding. Memberships are a win win, you often get discounts or free admission and the garden gets some cash.

To the public, here are things you can do to support your local public gardens. Visit- visitation numbers are tracked and often get tied into grants and other funding opportunities. It also helps gardens know what is drawing people to the gardens.
