I have been saying this for years but once again this is a perfect example of why this weird lib/Dem West Wing “just slowly make the courts better over 20 years” plan is work-avoidance bullshit. There is no option here except defying and delegitimizing a rogue court.

Perfect time for U.S. cities to roll out a ton of dedicated bus lanes. Every drop of oil is precious right now (always has been IMO) so why are we squandering it by forcing 🚍 to sit in traffic?! Drivers are more open to transit due to high gas prices. Let's provide a good alternative to driving.

Schlitz tied house tavern, 94th & Ewing, ca 1920. From CHM collection of glass plate negatives of Schlitz taverns. My best guess is taken during company's divestitures of taverns due to Volstead. Note the word 'beer' & Schlitz logo are removed from the sign.

it's been obvious this is where we're heading for at least 4-5 years now — trump and his paymasters in the oil industry and petrostates are trying to shackle the US to fossil fuel so Americans can be the buyers of last resort for otherwise stranded oil and gas assets.

Recently, FamilySearch digitized and uploaded tons of microfilmed records, including many from 18th-century Massachsuetts. They're using some sort of AI to transcribe/summarize the handwritten documents. I've noticed that the AI strips out references to race and enslavement in 18thc documents.

Rails-to-Trails projects are very popular and fun ways to use old infra. But, I’m really disappointed and frustrated by the unquestioned support given to the Crosstown Trail in Chicago. If there is ONE rail right-of-way we should be making a transit line it’s that. Such a shame to loose it.
