It is 2025. The EHRC in the UK keeps trying to materialize a trans bathroom ban out of a muddled UKSC opinion third-sexing all trans people. A bill to criminalise those who provide trans minors with transition care passed in the US House of Representatives. And cis "allies" still think this helps.

David Brooks has obsessively advocated to criminalize healthcare for trans children. Today we learn Brooks was an alleged associate of Jeffery Epstein, a child trafficking pedophile. One of the first victims of Epstein to come forward was a trans woman that Epstein assaulted when she was a child.

At its heart, it maintains & reinforces a system built on clinical control of and power over trans communities. There is no effort to improve accountability. No recognition of institutional transphobia. No recognition of clinical violence. Trans community voices are not centred in service design

It is a sign of how fundamentally abused and traumatised trans communities are in the UK that many folks are responding to Levy with relief and cautious welcome. It could have been a lot worse. But it fundamentally fails to deliver meaningful improvements to trans healthcare. 1/4

Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

Labour must be pressured. The Equality Act clearly does not refer to biological sex, yet they concealed the true legal position from both the court and the public. We had limited recognition under the 1999 Regs, before the GRA was enacted, so the Equality Act cannot disapply s9(1).

11/ It is clear that the Regulations referenced the medico-legal fact of gender reassignment, and it does modify the interpretation of sex and gendered terms. No reference was made to the religious or legal fiction of a so-called biological sex. The Supreme Court is wrong.
