Eh, half a year's not too bad

The 60th Anniversary felt like an unburdening of the show's past: the exhausted Doctor of yesterday taking his history and retiring to a never-ending garden party, the Doctor of tomorrow emerging light as a feather, rising to face new adventures. Instead, the burden grew larger than ever before.

What a strange, cynical, rushed, odd, formulaic, bizarre era of Doctor Who this has been. Never before has an opportunity been so thoroughly squandered.

Six and a bit months on and I've just finished both sequels: Red Seas Under Red Skies and The Republic of Thieves. Clapping when you finish a book is almost as strange as clapping when a plane lands but it feels appropriate in this case. 💙📚 Patiently waiting for whatever the hell happens next.

Filming finally commenced for Afar’s Proof of Concept on Tuesday 22nd April. The Proof of Concept will be available to view later in the year. Following a review period, filming will begin on the series itself. Stay tuned for further updates on the show’s development.
