I kind of have to laugh at the idea that giving my bike a sponge bath every 2 weeks could save me hundreds. I bought my bike 18 years ago for $500. I spend about $80 a year on a tune-up by a pro, and $40 on maintenance (new brakes, tubes etc). I'm not spending hundreds.

By the sounds of this, it seems like WestJet is removing the recline option from its basic economy seats. You will have to pay more to sit in the premium economy section to get a seat that reclines. All of this seems like an excuse to squish in more rows, making exits in emergencies harder. Yay.

I agree it's immoral. It's also a false economy. Some will die, but still more will become disabled, chronically ill, suffer long-term health impacts (including cognitive ones). All while the govt sets rigid targets for school attendance and squeezes disability payments.
