My husband said “maybe they realise they’ve lost a battle with it turn your phone off” but to me, it’s so much stronger. Even if most people still do keep phones on silent. Being told to turn it off I think has a stronger message for people not to check the things whilst watching a movie.

There a new Vue advert before the film about film staying with people, which is great. However at the end it says “please silence your phones”, not “turn your phones off” and my read of this is them basically saying “you can check your phone if it’s on silent” and NO LETS NOT ENCOURAGE THAT!
