Grateful to the blacksky labeler for the heads up on that one weirdo (now hidden/reported/blocked) who decided to swoop in on a post about a massacre of Black sharecroppers to warn me off racism against white people.

If you're enraged by the way Google and Microsoft are weaponising AI in search, you really need to read this piece. I, too, was persuaded after about 10 minutes. Given the hellscape that's the internet these days, good search results are more important than ever. And Kagi is *very good* at those.

Remember earlier this year when the US president wasn’t seen for 2 consecutive days and everyone thought he secretly died and there was so much hope and joy and celebration about moving on from that absolutely horrid regime and what we would do in the “after” times? Bring that energy into 2026 ✨

My first understanding of the Tulsa Race Massacre was via the Watchmen series. From what I understand I’m not alone in that experience. Here’s another that deserves wide awareness. Gonna have to track down Blood in Their Eyes.

Walking through a Starbucks in Toronto I made intense eye contact with a person who looked very familiar. As I tried to place them, I kept walking forward, still locked in on their eyes. I realized it was William H Macy at the exact moment I walked into a stool and absolutely ate shit on the floor.

If I were paid to do this job, I'd be in the media and on social media every day. I'd say: 1)get vaccinated for covid and the flu. 2) wear a respirator (N95) mask in crowded indoor spaces like public transit. 3) keep your holiday get-togethers safe by keeping things well ventilated and filtered.
