If you have a friend who lives alone and clearly enjoys her own company, can you not keep asking her who she’s spending Christmas with? There’s this weird thing where some people can’t conceive of Christmas alone and I have to do a lot of emotional lifting to explain that IT’S WHAT I WANT.

Sidney Lumet’s Serpico is 52. Pacino asked Frank Serpico why he fought police corruption & didn’t just take the bribe money & give it to charity & just get on with his work: ‘He looked at me and said ‘Al, if I’d done that, who would I have been when I listened to Beethoven?’

rich dudes got freakier after butlers fell out of fashion, like say what you will about having domestic servants but clearly it was some sort of moderating force on old rich dudes having a fancy man follow you around saying shit like "oh dear sir, that wouldn't be very becoming"

So, happy 50th anniversary to Melody Maker’s review of Bohemian Rhapsody: “Queen, with a suitably baroque vocal orchestration, contrive to approximate the demented fury of the Balham Amateur Operatic Society performing The Pirates of Penzance”

Honestly TELL THE STORY. Won’t someone just tell the fucking story of how Brexit created this economic hardship, how a Muslim immigrant just saved the lives of those commuters on that train, won’t someone in politics or even media just connect the fucking dots and TELL THE STORY. IT’S RIGHT THERE

Simon Pegg was once in a rom-com, Man Up, with the wonderful Lake Bell, which I thought was nearly very successful if it hadn’t been for the total lack of sexy/lovely/desirability of Simon Pegg. But Spaced? slam dunk
