Every week or so I think about the fact that the cops/government shot a white man, Alex Pretti, in cold blood and nothing has happened to his murderers. The murderers still have their jobs and the unarmed white man is a cautionary tale for white people to not challenge the white supremacist state.

The Banal Horror of Jimmy Fallon
Under the sterile blue lights of his studio, Fallon laughs endlessly at the same pseudo-jokes, rubs elbows with Trump and Sam Altman, and ushers in the death of culture.

"The rise of extreme wealth is one of the clearest signs of this imbalance. In 1987, billionaires held wealth equal to 3% of global GDP. Today this tiny elite, just 0.0001% of the world population, owns the equivalent of *16%* of world GDP in wealth."

It's not just that OrbĂĄn losing inspires hope in other competitive-autocratic countries ruled by right-wing nationalist authoritarians. It's that his loss materially changes things in those other countries, because he's been operating as a headquarters and funding source...

Right now, we are witnessing a preview of what could happen in the USA this November. Hungary's opposition party, Tisza, is so far ahead in the polls that they are on track to win a supermajority in the parliament, spelling the end of Orban. The only way Orban can remain is to subvert the election.

Side note- âWine momsâ also a rather contemptuous way of acknowledging we made child-rearing so disconnected and peripheral and under-valued as a capitalist society that the primary caregivers drug themselves constantly.
