Musk buying twitter, Bezos buying WaPo, Ellison buying CBS—all are less profitable now. But they’re political investments that increase the value of the new owners’ portfolios Wealth concentration makes this possible, and that’s one mechanism by which inequality destroys democracy

It's not infrastructure week. In fact, there's a whole bridge to Canada that's not being used because of a petty dispute with Trump, which has ballooned into a leverage play around the US-Mexico-Canada agreement. Good report from

There were 20-30 cop cars stopper flashing super bright blue lights on Claiborne between MLK and Jackson a little while ago. In 30’years of driving down Claiborne late at night I have never seen that many cop. Maybe 15 cop cars max even for a major shooting event.

You guys, the White House accidentally ordered 10x the amount of Porta-Potties that they needed. The lawn is just acres of Porta-Potties. It’s all fenced off and you can’t see, but I took this photo through a hole in the fence netting.

So folks understand the problems with the New York Times didn’t just start under Trump. The Times was the top promoter of invading Iraq (far more influential than Fox News) and it forwarded smears of the Clintons and Al Gore. The Times even did PR for Adolf Hitler before WWII. The problem isn’t new.
