Time to repeat my observation that in my undergrad program they taught us engineering was "the application of science for the good of mankind", but then used all the classroom time on the application science, and none on "good" or "mankind".

The Fisherman by @johnlangan.bsky.social, one of my favorite horror books of all time. The definition of a slow burn that rewards big. We made it! Happy Halloween, everybody. If you bought one third of the books I've recommended this month, you are very happy and completely broke.
