MILLENNIUM. It actually did have a third season, but it's so strikingly different from the first two that it feels like a completely different show. Also, THE OTHERS, which only ran for one season in 2000, about a team of psychic investigators.

Art Spiegelman in conversation with Dan Nadel at the Brooklyn Public Library last night. At 77 years old, he's still funny, charming, and delightfully antiauthoritarian. I had no idea he worked on Wacky Packages and, at the same time he was writing MAUS, Garbage Pail Kids!

A lot of knee patients at the physical therapy place today, all of us crab-walking across the floor at the same time with our multicolored Therabands, like the weirdest parade anyone has ever seen.

THE X-FILES premiered on this day 32 years ago. I didn't watch it at first. I caught an episode midway through the first season, when it was on Friday nights, and thought it was good. I don't remember which episode that was, but I kept watching after that, and the show got better and better. (1/6)

It's an eclectic list, although all the movies on it are great. Indeed, three of them--CASABLANCA, JAWS, and DOUBLE INDEMNITY--would be on my list, too.

It's not that I'm disliking ALIEN: EARTH, but I don't feel an emotional connection to any of the characters, which makes it feel strangely uninvolving anytime there isn't monster mayhem on screen.

We tried to watch DEVIL ON CAMPUS, a Lifetime movie now on Netflix about the cult situation that arose a few years ago at my alma mater, Sarah Lawrence College, but we couldn't make it even ten minutes before bailing. It was unwatchable. (1/2)

After attending the grand opening of the Twisted Spine yesterday, we also visited two more cool stores on that block of Grand Street in Williamsburg, a.k.a. Analog Alley: Night Owl Video, a retro video store, and Twenty Sided, a gaming store where I bought a goth dice set (red on black)!

An Ottawa man with a history of making antisemitic remarks, including saying Jews are "insidious in governments" and "the world’s masters of propaganda," stabbed a 74-year-old woman in a grocery store because she was wearing a Star of David necklace.
