I’ve come back with a few lessons learned from my Edale overnighter, the time on being that my 3mm evacote pad protector is NOT a luxury but an integral part of my sleep system. It was the first time I left it and felt the difference.

Hi all, its your friendly neighborhood retired therapist here to remind you that the horrors persist and so do we! Have you: -had a glass of water or something liquid that is not caffeinated recently? -used any calming or grounding techniques you like? -eaten a food? If not, do that now. 💜

We’ve just been given 24 hours to take down our report on a dodgy Oxford accounting firm. Here’s the correspondence. On the Richter scale of legal threats, it’s somewhere between cornflakes and a kitten:

Feeling a bit defeated today. It was blowing a hooly on the edges today and I was even slower than usual. After 6 hours and only halfway on my route (8.6km) I threw in the towel. Still, I have some nice photos.

Decided to start with Grindsbrook Clough, and made a grand total of 3.6km in 2.5 hours. Every man , woman and their dog passed me on the way up. But the view at the top was spectacular.

Holiday advice: It's pleasant to get a train to Europe. You just have to turn travelling into a core part of the holiday - lunch in Paris, dinner in Bordeaux, trip to Spain, week on beach etc. It's limiting, but very enjoyable & decent alternative to a flight you won't be able to afford by summer.

Your fact of the evening is that "Tannoy" is a brand name. And I know you're probably imagining now that it was invented by some big US company. Nope. The tannoy public speaker system was invented by Guy Fountain, a Yorkshire-born engineer, operating out of a small factory in West Norwood.

Pete mate, the thing with the"big bad Royal Navy" is that when you've stupidly dug yourself into a massive hole in the middle east, and want help getting out of it, the Admiralty are completely the wrong service. Not your earth moving types. You'll be after the Royal Engineers.

A gap of six weeks and I took half an hour longer to walk the High Peak Trail and so missed the bus. I have to wait an hour for the next one dammit. At least it’s a warmer wait than last time.

Looks like after six months of AI-first bullshit the recruitment market has figured out that it's not gonna work. Every single role I looked at this morning says "submit your CV *or reach out for more information here*" - a month ago it was pretty much "click this button and hope"
