Something i find deeply frustrating about some of the *CE reporting is how much of the conversation is that these people "didn't do anything wrong". because theres that unspoken specter of once you commit a crime you no longer deserve rights or to be treated as a human being.

We need to build some real social stigma around being afraid of cities. You don't have to like them or live there, but a politics built this strongly around watching TV and going "ewww" is embarrassing, and people should be embarrassed by it. It's like "fear of werewolves" being your top issue.

They are going to insist that this is a road safety initiative. It isn't. It's a dragnet on commercial delivery cyclists. Because road safety would require addressing the cause of road deaths: motor vehicles. Someone ask Tisch what percentage of pedestrians died from e-bike collisions.
