American politics is a constant struggle for apathetic masses between one faction who wants the death of all things and one who wants to do simple good governance but is extremely shy about the “death of all things” guys hitting them British politics is a war of all against all for ????????????????

Yup. The elite media is pro-eugenics, anti-lockdowns, and very anti-trans. Everything makes sense when you understand that.

The situation is quite obviously representative of our media though who largely defended Nuzzi when it came out she committed one of the biggest ethical transgressions one could commit and was hired by Vanity Fair afterwards. It deserves discussion and reckoning because the implications are broad.

This denial right here is a huge part of the problem and indicative of the larger rot. This is a story with obviously larger implications and overt evidence that this behavior is accepted and encouraged industry wide.

It is a commentary on journalism at least as long as Nuzzi is employed by one of the most prestigious magazines in the country.

tougher media coverage would have made it harder for them to do that, it would have increased the mental cost of "I am going to cast a ballot for this guy", but it wouldn't have eliminated the sense of "I deserve this lower-price borgar" or "magic money man can turn time back to 2019"

There's lot of "fish doesn't know the meaning of water" here. Everyone's like "Harris ran a bad campaign," but they never step back to realize that 99.9% of their exposure to her campaign was via people on the internet and hey maybe that's true for everyone else too.

Nobody's saying online posters have more accountability than elected Democrats. It's that they have *some* accountability, i.e., greater than zero, which adds up over many accounts, and the problem is that accounts with large followings like Internet Hippo seem to believe it is zero.

a take which I thought was too basic to write up but I clearly should have written up lol was that one underrated success of the 2024 Trump campaign was to manage to make it *look* like the Kamala campaign was back-to-back culture wars, they did a very good job on that front!

Tired of the cope that Trump is an awful candidate. He's such a terrifyingly effective candidate that the public completely memory holed his first term so they could give him the benefit of the doubt. Who were you gonna believe, him or your lying memory? If you even did keep brain records of 2020
