I'm sick of companies building their products on the back of open source and not giving back. Figure out a better business model than "surveil and subscribe"

But it's largely forgotten that Ramelli's book wheel was a fanciful invention that was not realized in its age. It only became a real artifact in the minds of people when ones were actually constructed in the 19th century, inspired by that illustration. /3

the great news is google has already been weaning us off search by making it increasingly unusable and ad-heavy for years many of us won't be around to see this atrocity because we've already moved on

The richest man in the world gutted USAID and bragged about “feeding [it] into the wood chipper.” Remember who is responsible for this suffering.

"Her lawyer is not telling the truth about his participation that evening. And for this to be depicted as a 'bouncing baby boy' is materially false. It undermines the violence, lack of dignity, and safety of the whole situation. She was handcuffed behind her back throughout the birth."

When a regime clearly holds the rule of law in contempt, and views itself as completely above the law, it and its agents don’t have any moral argument for the protections of the rule of law.

I don’t know that it’s appreciably worse than Anything Else Going On Right Now, but learning that my tax dollars are about to fund a billion-dollar slush fund for Trump sycophants and literal January 6 insurrectionists is filling me with a new and special flavor of rage

Cool how the president is stealing my money and using it to make life worse for everyone. It makes me want to be a productive citizen and have many babies for him to steal from.

HUGE NEWS: ICE’s courthouse arrests have been STAYED by a New York district judge. That means that ICE will have to stop arresting our immigrant neighbors on the spot when they show up to court at places like 26 Federal Plaza, 290 Broadway, and 201 Varick. (1/2)

They're stealing billions of your money to pay off violent right-wing psychos while doing everything in their power to spike gas up to $5 a gallon, make groceries into a luxury and hand the country over to the oligarchs who want to permanently replace you.

Imagine using $1.7 billion to address hunger, housing, education, and medical care. Imagine using $1.7 billion to address the wage gap and the lack of resources for survivors of violence and abuse. We should never look at these ideas as too radical or impossible again.

if we don't stake out the ground that crimes against public governance — against the concept of a republic — are especially grave, why would anyone believe it to be true?

While I am pretty strongly anti-carceral in most things, the exception is this: violations of public trust and authority. Dirty cops, crooked politicians, election interference: life in prison. If you wield the state's authority in a corrupt way, you can't be part of society anymore. Full stop.

BREAKING: Colorado Democratic governor Jared Polis has granted clemency to Tina Peters, who was convicted of election fraud. And this is why Centrist corporate Democrats are insufferable and should be voted out permanently. Who needs MAGA fascists when Corporate Dems do the dirty work for them. smh
