Pride is an unabashed act of queer joy as civic rebellion; not a corporate tie-in. It’s not about what Fortune 500 company or government agency puts out a half-hearted tweet. That doesn’t and has never mattered. Pride persists and resists no matter what.

Reminder that Gay Liberation exists because of the work of trans women of color, many of whom were sex workers to survive. Women like Sylvia and Marsha may be mentioned more often now but early groups like STAR are often left out of the Pride narrative because they’re considered “less respectable”.
