If this is true, it's wild to me to look at how AEW does things and not see how many people got signed and got over there by being good at losing. If you're unsigned anyway, you should expect to be jobbing tbh but in AEW, doing the job well can get you a contract very quickly.

This applies to basically all fandoms btw. There's a ton of people who would like your thing but will never know because they think it's "not for them" thanks to the spaces feeling unwelcoming or unsafe for people like them. Content is often less important than Community for attracting new fans.

This isn't unique to wrestling but is definitely a major issue within wrestling spaces but maybe the way to find out what appeals to casuals and attracts new fans is to actually listen to them rather than the same (mostly) Cis Het White Dudes saying they know what they really want.
