I’m seeing a ❄️ risk in our region Friday evening / early Saturday. Namely in showers. Models have increased depth of cold air, certainly sufficient for falling snow to low levels further southeast with air flow I’d expect North Sea convection. Not the biggest window ~12 hours but one nonetheless.

The top 6 media stories on Stuff are landslides, storms, floods. None of them mention climate change, which we know makes these events more frequent and more extreme. People have lost their lives. Homes have been destroyed. And leading politicians are in the pub having "great fun".

It's depressing how much UK political messaging relies, not on promising better services, but by planting the suspicion that someone, somewhere, is getting something you didn't. We're told to expect next to nothing from the state, to the extent that supporting vulnerable children is framed as theft.

If you have a condensing/combi boiler, this morning is a really good time to check its outflow. Mine is on its third pampering hot water bottle of the morning and starting to flow freely. If it freezes, your boiler will stop. Which you do not want rn. Or in general.
