Last week, a bipartisan group of lawmakers, led by @baldwin.senate.gov & @congressmanraja.bsky.social, introduced a bill to restore the 988 crisis hotline services for LGBTQ+ youth. This is critical to helping LGBTQ+ youth thrive which is why we urge Congress to pass this bill.

When Amy Sherald was told that the Smithsonian had “concerns” about “Trans Forming Liberty,” a piece depicting a Black trans woman as the Statue of Liberty, she pulled her exhibit from the National Portrait Gallery. Her clear-eyed advocacy is why we’re thrilled to honor her at our National Dinner.

News outlets like @wsj.com have a critical responsibility to report the truth. Promoting false information that ties our LGBTQ+ community to the Utah shooting is reckless, irresponsible, and puts trans people especially in danger. Anyone with a platform must do better. Lives are on the line.

Today, our volunteers, members, and supporters met with their lawmakers on Capitol Hill, reminding them how important it is that we have strong equality champions in Congress. We shared our stories and dreams because that’s how we change hearts, minds, and policies.

Political violence is unacceptable and has no place in this country. We cannot ever accept this epidemic of gun violence as normal. We cannot keep living like this.
