I literally spent 10 min translating Lula’s speech about Palestine to English. I just need every single one of my gringo friends to listen to this man in order to maybe restore their faith in politics. This right here is a politician. This is why we voted for him. And personally, I’ll do it again.

Unless something significantly changes, this is looking very bad for the Home Office It's the first time I've heard a Court of Appeal judge preface a question with the phrase "are you seriously submitting..." Two judges have said decision was contrary to the rule of law and rights of individuals

Okay, look, I want to explain a bit about this mystery of why Italians (and other Southern Europeans) are so much more up for rioting than people in the UK. The UK has over 7 million CCTV cameras. That's more than 1 camera per 10 people. London is the 3rd most surveilled city in the world. 1/

And of course it’s not just pain! Even if you think ppl should just suck it up and deal with the pain of like, a broken rib or dislocated joint or whatever- it’s a fever reducer. You know what can actually be harmful to a foetus? Uncontrolled fever. This is cruel but also dangerous.

There should be a high bar for politicians attacking the media, but maybe Ed Davey has half a point here? For example, the first three paragraphs of this BBC story repeat Reform's ÂŁ243bn figure without saying that the thinktank behind the estimate now disowns it. (This is mentioned in paragraph 35)

You literally censored Judith Butler for accurately describing the 'gender critical' movement as part of fascism. And now prominent GC activists are hanging out with neo-Nazis (Minshull), calling people who cared about Flloyd "very weird" (Freeman) and saying that "ethnicity matters"(Stock).

I cannot believe this still needs saying, but, and I say this as an autistic individual, vaccines do not cause autism. Whatever comes out of the White House is aimed specifically at undermining recognition and support for autistic individuals, and minimising our lives and experiences.

Hey, Keir Starmer, good to know your only objections to Reform's proposal for removing my mother's ILR (after decades working in the NHS) is that it is "unworkable" and "unfunded". Not that it is morally and legally repugnant and fascist. Cool, cool, very cool.

Keir Starmer’s spokesperson asked for the PM's response to Nigel Farage’s plan to deport hundreds of thousands of people living and working completely legally in the UK, replies that he thinks it is “unworkable” and “unfunded”. So his objection is that they’ve got their sums wrong

Yep, here's the key takeaway, from p.83: 15% of all participants in all groups figured out that they're nonbinary over the course of the study. That means that of the 20% change that The Economist reported, 3/4 of that was just one type of trans to another. Absolutely disgusting reporting.

Now that the UK government has, finally, announced formal recognition of a Palestine state, the next step, among others, needs to be providing a safe route for Palestinians to seek asylum in the UK from what is unequivocally a genocide being committed against them in Gaza. Otherwise it's just words.
