Listening to the voters and not attacking them is, of course, the core tenant of New Labour. It was key to Labour Together's post 2019 report, backed by much (good data). But pretty clear now they only mean 'listen to this type of voter' and the data was just a cover for a very ideological view

But then the labour party deeply resents the idea that women 20-45 are their natural voters

They've put a lot of effort into making it very clear that the best way to get Labour to listen to your priorities is to vote for someone else. Bit weird to act miffed when people do.
