To be fair it is operated by Scottish Rail holdings which is government owned but a bit of an “arms length” way of doing it. And again, I do not disagree about costs being too high.

This is draconian. Excessive and completely unnecessary. 1. Most stations in populated parts of Scotland have ticket gates. 2. This woll likely increase, not reduce anti-social behaviour as most young folk will not have an extra £10. It's 2026 poverty is sky-high, especially amongst young people.
