I think it’s important to keep 3 things clear: 1. Jewish rights are human rights and antisemitism is never okay 2. Muslim rights are human rights and islamophobia is never okay 3. Candidates for US federal office, especially the Senate, have a duty to discuss US foreign policy in the Middle East.

The US is spending more than $1 trillion on the military for the first time in history. That apparently isn't enough. Now, the Pentagon wants $200 billion more for an illegal war in Iran. The answer is NO. We need to invest in the American people, not endless war.

It's not just the mad president. It's Susan Collins who enables him and empowers him. And I'm sorry, but it's also our neighbors and family members who voted for him and continue to support him. None of this would be possible if Republicans were willing to stand up to him.

The wild rationalizations of “I always hated her anyway” re: Warren’s endorsement of Platner are funny to me. Platner and Mills are competing to replace Collins in a group of 100 powerful people. Among those 100 people, which ones would you prefer the next senator from Maine most resemble?

All things considered it's pretty clear that the 2028 primary will be extremely different from the 2020 primary on the issue of Israel-Palestine if the likes of Newsom, Gallego, and Pritzker continue to talk the way they have in recent months.

I don't think the majority view of the Democratic primary electorate in 2028 will be that Biden and Harris were too mean to Israel

The contradiction here is interesting. (1) Sanders, Warren, Mamdani staffers (2) bluesky hivemind are often in sync! They share values, often make common cause against GOP, or against Schumer/Dem estab. So why does (1) support Platner, but (2) declares him Hitler incarnate? My best guess below:

More generally, I just hate how out-of-staters are injecting all of this unnecessary vitriol and divisiveness into the race. It makes things more unpleasant for the people who actually have to participate in this process, and it makes it harder to unite behind whoever wins.

This website has been indulging a collective delusion for months, and Liz Warren is helping me find the courage to keep calling it out. I have plenty of misgivings about Graham Platner. But the consensus opinion that he “is a nazi”, and that anyone who supports him is a nazi, is patently ludicrous.

A note about the shape of these 3-way Dem primaries in 2026: The presence of a candidate who strongly supports Palestinian freedom affects the race, even if they don’t end up winning. Biss, the nominee, now has to unify a coalition that includes Abughazaleh’s voters as well as Fine’s voters.

Despite my misgivings about Kat (carpetbagging, inexperience, slightly unserious vibe), I think I would have voted for her if I lived in IL-09, to send the strongest possible pro-Palestine message to the party.
