Scott Pelley won this fight by a massive margin, for a litany of reasons, and with his dignity and integrity fully intact. From David Ellison, down to Bari Weiss, and to Nick Bilton… CBS fucked this up so hard. What a shame.

As President, I would read 10 letters a day sent to me by ordinary Americans. At the Obama Presidential Center, we’ll have some of the letters I read — and responded to — every night. I still get emotional reading them, and it’s one of my favorite exhibits.

This sounds like hyperbole, but the Duluth News Tribune's

is the only one I could find mentioning the *insane* fact that the MN GOP moved for an actual moment of silence for the police officer who killed George Floyd, props to this reporter

This Delaney Hall curfew likely violates both the U.S. and New Jersey Constitutions, and certainly violates them both by failing to exempt press. Press require sight and sound access to do their job. Think of them like a first responder, running to danger to keep public informed.

I find it totally bizarre that no twin cities outlets even mentioned this in passing. People were fired from jobs for criticizing Charlie Kirk, but praising a convicted murderer isn’t a scandal?

I'm gonna hold a moment of silence for the MN GOP's morals and sense of decency. Because unlike a certain killer cop, they're actually dead.

The only positive thing about this story is that it's indicative of how the internal culture of many state-level GOP organizations (even in purple states like MN) has become increasingly dominated by extremist weirdos who say and do stuff like this that repels everyone outside their tiny circle.

Minnesota Republicans stood in silence to honor convicted murderer Derek Chauvin, who killed George Floyd by calmly and coldly kneeling on Floyd’s neck for over 9 minutes while onlookers begged him to stop.

At the Republican convention today they opened with a moment of silence for…. Derek Chauvin. No, seriously. That’s the party we’re up against. We cannot let them win any state races or take control of the House or Senate in November. They had a moment of silence for a convicted murderer.
