Since Fox is owned by the same parent corporation as WSJ, this means the only broadcast company Trump hasn’t sued is NBC … which gave Trump a TV show for 14 seasons. (Granted, NBC actually fired Trump after his comments about Mexican immigrants. So maybe he’s saving his revenge there for last?)

This on top of 9,600 rounds fired by LASD and CHP in just a few days around that same period. So we're already over 10,000 munitions fired by police during protests in Los Angeles in early June ... and still missing most days of LAPD data. When will ANY Los Angeles civic leader speak about this?

I'm really proud of the press rights coalition that fought for CA Senate Bill 98 (Penal Code 409.7). Had a big role in today's court ruling against LAPD, which even dug into bill amendment history. We learned how legislative sausage is made. And today the judge literally made a salami reference. 🤣

Great coverage in LAist of the two big press rights rulings in 24 hours against DHS and LAPD, plus protester protections. My quote: “LAPD has failed to police itself for 25 years. Elected officials have failed to police LAPD too. Finally a federal judge has stepped in to do their job for them.”

The order is expanded from the TRO. It recognizes that LAPD has violated state laws meant to protect journalists, expands protections to explicitly include batons--- and expressly orders LAPD to assign a supervisor of Lt. or above to every protest whose primary duty is compliance with the order.

Court recognizes that this is problem has persisted at LAPD for decades, right from the jump:

Double win!! In two separate rulings, one with DHS and other with LAPD, a federal judge has imposed restrictions on use of force by police against journalists. The DHS case also includes protections for legal observers and protesters. With LAPD unable to police itself, a judge is stepping in.
