If you care about Don Lemon, don't forgot Mario Guevara (reporter who was filming police at a No Kings rally in June) was targeted for his journalistic activity; detained for 112 days; and deported. He had no criminal charges against him and was on the path to getting a green card.

I just got tear gassed along with thousands of union members, many of whom had their families with them. Federal agents at the ICE facility tear gassed children. We must abolish ICE, DHS, and we must have prosecutions. I expect to see enforcement of our city code prohibiting the use of tear gas.

What do these corporations have in common? -Amazon -AT&T -Home Depot -Microsoft -Palantir They all reaped billions in tax breaks from Trump's Big Ugly Bill — and are actively collaborating with ICE's deportation machine. Always follow the money.

I don't like to talk about stories before they are fully reported, but I am writing on ICE in a Minnesota town that isn't Minneapolis. However bad you think it is, it is worse. It is a campaign of pure terror whose only strategic goal is more terror. There is no strategy other than to break people.

Minnesota CEOs sent a letter calling for “de-escalation.” They left out that many of them and their trade groups backed the bill that flooded ICE & CBP with $170 billion. Yes, Palantir helps ICE. But ICE was helped along by a bunch of boring companies you interact with daily.

And for folks like Thiel, Karp, and Andreessen, this is not just about economic gain—it’s about ideology.

This giant ICE Army they are building this year is also likely to be at polling places during the midterms in heavily Democratic precincts with the excuse being that they are looking for “illegals trying to vote.”

ICE is spending lots of money on data based surveillance. Data coming mostly from your smartphone and your friends', with help of all those ads.

ICE isn’t just brutal. It’s also big business. From 2008 to 2021 ICE spent *$1.2 billion* on geolocation tracking, $561M on data analysis, $252M on government databases, and $97M on data brokers. Most of that went to companies who will lobby for this system to stay in place.

Coordinated a beer drop by a white friend to deliver a 30-rack of Hamm’s to a Hispanic friend’s doorstep because his wife wouldn’t let him leave the house to go buy more beer for fear he’d be brutalized by lawless armed masked federal paramilitaries. This is Minnesota community. We take care of us.
