Thirty-five years after the Americans with Disabilities Act became a reality in the U.S., the nation has made significant strides when it comes to disability rights and economic inclusion — yet disabled people are still twice as likely to live in poverty and millions face barriers to economic mobility and full participation in society. The Roosevelt Institute and the National Academy of Social Insurance cordially invite you to join the first annual Disability Econ Symposium on September 17, 2025 from 10:30am-2:30pm The Symposium will be convened in tandem with the launch of the Disability Economic Policy Research Consortium, a new initiative supported by the Ford Foundation and the MacArthur Foundation The Symposium will feature several dynamic panel discussions and lightning talks by leading researchers and thought leaders at the intersection of disability and economic policy uplifting barriers, solutions, and what it will take to finally build an economy that works for disabled people.
