Glasgow has 15 subway stations. Just look at the land use around these two! It's shocking. Should be dense housing and commerce, or dense employment. Instead we have a huge motorway junction and like a car dealership and some warehouses that could just as happily be on the outskirts.

Agree with all of this, other than "the right will go 'pro-natalist" - I think what will happen is that much of the right will shift from 'blaming our ills on immigration' to 'blaming our ills on ethnic diversity', which is already happening to an extent.

If I was a mayor, or ran a city’s transportation dept, I’d be meeting frequently with the local police chief/deputy chiefs, explaining the MANY public interest reasons why we want as many people as possible riding bikes, and how their approach to bike theft, ticketing, etc makes a BIG DIFFERENCE.
