ParkMyBike (#DCEnetwork) has installed smart bike hangars in cooperation with Falco UK (manufacturer) and Shrewsbury Moves. This initiative from Shrewsbury Town Council aims to improve public space and mobility, with cycling as a key part.

By reducing parking spots, replaced by loading zones, this street in Paris has been transformed. It now gives more space to cyclists, with a protected lane on each side. This makes a huge difference in safety and rider experience. 📸 @emmanuelspv.bsky.social

This 384-metre route runs under the Montpelliers iconic square and is only for bikes. With this solution, cyclists can cross the center without conflicts or interaction with traffic. This increases safety and efficiency for cycle traffic. 📸 @arthur.lansonneur on Instagram

In late January, our director Skadi Tirpak spent several days in Sydney, gaining first-hand insight into how the city is continuing to shape its cycling network. The visit offered a snapshot of Sydney’s direction, combining major infrastructure upgrades with thoughtfully designed local routes.

The F35 cycling route in Eschede uses these vibrant displays along the route. Developed by Multisensors (#DCEnetwork), they count cyclists in both direction and display key information including time and temperature.

One of the most interesting things about Dutch cycling culture is how long people keep cycling. Even at 75+ you still see many people on the bike, often every day. That is not by chance. Safe cycle lanes, smooth surfaces, and clear crossings make cycling possible at every age.

This is Marnixlaan in Utrecht. The street used to be much more car-focused, with more lanes. In the redesign, space was shifted to cycling, walking, and greenery. The result is a separate cycle lane along the main road, with more room and clearer lines.

Build it and they will come. By giving people the option to comfortably and safely get around by bike it becomes a viable choice. It's amazing to see more and more places transforming in this direction.

The best cycle lanes are wide, beautiful and completely separate from other roads. This type of infrastructure is common here in the Netherlands. They often connect cities and offer a great alternative for driving.

The new Stadttunnel bicycle parking facility in Zurich offers 1,240 parking spaces. Located inside a 440-metre-long bicycle tunnel beneath Zürich Central Station, it is equipped with Abel Sensors’ SmartParking technology. #DCEnetwork

Seen from above, the Kniphoekbrug in Houten is a simple, well-designed link in the town’s cycling network. It offers an easy, pleasant route over the water, showing how good infrastructure makes everyday cycling straightforward and enjoyable.

Why do cycle bridges matter? Cycle bridges create safe, direct routes for people on bikes, especially across busy roads, railways, or waterways. They remove conflict points with motor traffic, reducing the risk of collisions and making cycling more enjoyable for everyone.

Burg Reigerstraat in Utrecht is a fietsstraat, a cycling street where bikes have priority and cars are considered guests. By keeping speeds low and designing the street to feel comfortable for riders of all ages, it creates a calmer, safer environment that encourages active travel.
