The findings from Donna Ockenden’s review into Nottingham University Hospitals Trust have sent shockwaves across the country. I spoke to ITV News about why I support calls for a public inquiry, provided it won’t delay criminal proceedings or stop recommendations being adopted in full.

I’m heartbroken for Nottingham resident Isaac Clare-Watts, who was killed at a summer solstice event in the Peak District, and his beautiful family. I know that he was a kind, warm and loving son and brother, and his loss will be unbearable for all who cherished him.

Great to join St Ann’s East’s Pride in Place Chair and Vice Chair at an event in Parliament focusing on community engagement and local communications. The Pride in Place programme will invest £20m in St Ann’s over the next decade, putting residents in charge of how the money is spent.

Ten years ago today, Jo Cox MP was murdered by a far-right white supremacist who called her a “traitor” for believing in an open and inclusive vision of our country. Her message - that we have more in common than that which divides us - is what the far-right is still trying to destroy today.

I’ve been contacted by many constituents about the harm caused to children by social media - from viewing inappropriate content and the risk of grooming, to bullying and the impact on mental health. I share these concerns, but worry that a blanket social media ban for under-16s isn’t the answer.

It is disgraceful that hospital staff unlawfully accessed the medical records of the victims of the Nottingham attacks. These were cruel, selfish actions that violated the privacy of the victims and were deeply hurtful for their loved ones. 1/2

While it appears that the government has successfully pushed back on some particularly harmful elements in the previous draft, the new Code of Practice will still lead to the exclusion of trans people from services and facilities that they have used without issue for a very long time. [1/5]
