I have tabled a motion in Parliament, supported by 33 other MPs from 6 different parties, calling for a public inquiry into the British public figures and institutions with links to Epstein. With child sexual abuse on this scale, it is unfathomable that other people did not know.

Mandelson never should have been appointed given his known association with a convicted paedophile. The Prime Minister was then slow to sack him, slow to remove the whip, and slow to apologise. Like many people, I am angry. I have to be honest and say once again that we need a change at the top.

Though it took too long, I’m relieved that persistent campaigning against the two-child benefit cap means that the government will finally lift it in April. But this can only be the start of undoing harmful policies that push people into poverty and keep them there.

There must be full transparency about the appointment of Peter Mandelson as ambassador to the US. Any government amendments seeking to exclude publication of information on the grounds that it could be “prejudicial to international relations" are simply unacceptable. [1/2]

Peter Mandelson’s association with convicted child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein has been long known. He should have been expelled from the Labour Party and stripped of his peerage many years ago. He never should have been appointed US ambassador. [1/2]

The Epstein files should have been released a very long time ago. The full files must now be published. Every powerful individual and institution that perpetrated or covered up heinous acts of sexual abuse must be compelled to testify and face criminal investigation. [1/3]

Labour was wrong to block Andy Burnham from standing in Gorton and Denton. It’s undemocratic and shortsighted. If this decision isn’t overturned by an emergency meeting of the NEC, polls are now showing that we could come third place in the by-election.

If my party is serious about anti-racism: implement the Forde recommendations, adopt the APPG’s definition of Islamophobia, address disproportionate poverty rates and poor health outcomes. Do not cynically deploy an all-BAME shortlist to shut down party democracy. Offensive and politically weak.

I’m struggling to find the right words for the heartbreak and rage of seeing a five-year-old child detained by ICE. But I’m not surprised. Trump’s political agenda has always been to terrorise the most vulnerable. This is the reality of far-right rule, and it’s what Reform wants in the UK.

It was great to meet Nottingham Wildcats, a basketball club and community trust providing opportunities for women and young children to participate in basketball through programmes and partnerships. It was great to visit Al-Hurraya, a peer-led, culturally specific charity serving the needs of ethnically diverse communities in Nottingham. They offer culturally-sensitive counselling services, gambling addiction support, family support, and support for members of newly emerging communities.

Thank you to everyone who joined us door-knocking and picking up casework in Bobbers Mill last weekend. Lots of residents flagged waste collection and speeding issues, which I have raised with the council.

Absolutely gutted to hear that the Golden Fleece, a much-loved Nottingham institution, will be closing. Their friendly team always remembers my weirdly specific drink order. Its closure underscores why the government must do all it can to protect pubs - they're a key part of our social fabric.

I left university in 2019 with £49,600 of debt. A few months later, I became an MP and have since received a salary that puts me in the top 5% in the country. 6 years on, the repayments from my salary have brought this total to down to £48,600 - just £1,000 less.

A blanket ban on puberty blockers, with a medical trial the only way to access them for young people, still isn’t enough for those who are ideologically opposed to the very existence of trans people and want the trial stopped. Nothing ever will be.

I hosted @artnotevidence.bsky.social and @justicehq.bsky.social in Parliament this week so MPs could hear how rap is being used in courts to paint young black boys and men as gang members. We discussed the serious implications this issue has for freedom of expression and the right to a fair trial.

In case you missed it, Nigel Farage said Reform would vote against scrapping the two-child benefit cap because some of the families who will benefit include people who are “foreign-born”. Imagine being so racist that you would rather keep 450,000 children in poverty.

The health of the Palestine hunger strikers is rapidly deteriorating. Heba Muraisi, on day 65 of her strike, is suffering from muscle spasms and breathing problems, while Kamran Ahmed, on day 58, is experiencing hearing loss. The government must urgently engage with the prisoners’ representatives.

Last year, at least 36 people died trying to cross the Channel. This is a direct result of our brutal migration and asylum system. I spoke to The Mirror about why the government must keep an official record of all deaths in the Channel, and ultimately open safe routes to prevent them.

Donald Trump’s bombing of Venezuela is an illegal attack on a sovereign nation. It is a blatant grab for Venezuelan oil, risking the lives of innocent civilians. All of us who care about international law must condemn this.

As well as discrimination in general healthcare, years long waiting lists for gender-affirming healthcare are ruining trans people’s lives. We urgently need increased funding for gender-affirming healthcare, improved training for GPs, and to co-produce services with trans patients.

A joy as always to visit Windmill Academy in Sneinton. I met with the school council to discuss a whole range of issues from public transport, to democracy, and our favourite places in Nottingham.

The government has announced an extra £154.5 million in funding for Nottingham over the next three years. This will be transformative for our city and for people’s lives and wellbeing.

There are excellent proposals in the government’s long-awaited VAWG strategy: a focus on prevention and education, specialist support for child sexual abuse survivors in one place, specialist officers in every police force, and a national rollout of domestic abuse protection orders, to name a few.

It was great to meet with my constituent, Appiah, in a lobby of MPs by migrant care workers organised by Unison. The government’s proposals to make migrant care workers wait 15 years before they can apply for settled status are completely unacceptable.

Remember: the imprisoned peaceful protesters on hunger strike have not been convicted of any crime, yet they expect to spend about a year and a half in prison awaiting trial. Everyone has human rights. And theirs are clearly being violated.

In our hundreds we protested outside the Ministry of Justice, demanding the government’s immediate intervention to save the lives of the hunger strikers. We have been raising this in every way possible and we will not stop.

Absolutely thrilled that @andrea4gs.bsky.social has been elected as the new General Secretary of UNISON, with a resounding mandate to put democracy at the heart of the union.

The Employment Rights Bill has now passed both Houses of Parliament. It will implement the most significant uplift for workers’ rights in decades. While more remains to be done in strengthening workers’ rights, this is vital legislation that we must continue to build on.

Qesser Zuhrah and Amy Gardiner-Gibson are on day 46 of their hunger strike. Heba Muraisi is on day 45. All are at a high risk of death. In 1981 - the last time there was a hunger strike like this - Martin Hurson died after 46 days.
