The Renters’ Rights Act is being implemented on the 1st of May and is set to finally transform renting for years to come.

It was an honour to speak at Shelter’s event on the future of council homes. It was also a privilege to hear from the brilliant Anne Marie about her experience with social housing and just how vital it is.

The Prime Minister promised to deliver The Hillsborough Law in full nearly two years ago now. The continued delay is nothing short of a disgrace. It needs to be delivered and delivered quickly. I will always support rescue shelters, pet adoption and fostering. Many rescue centres are full or at breaking point because more animals are being surrendered or abandoned than are being adopted.

Delighted to join Target Ovarian Cancer in Parliament yesterday to mark #OvarianCancerAwarenessMonth and to talk to the amazing Sbba, Reeta & Natalie about their experiences. Over 7,000 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer each year in the UK.

It was such a pleasure to show the lovely group from Transforming Choice around parliament today. Transforming Choice is an alcohol and detox centre, based in my constituency, and led by the wonderful Francis Molloy and her team. The work they do is absolutely incredible.

Following the Channel 4 Docudrama Dirty Business it was a pleasure to attend a drop in to hear about the public's views of the water crisis. I would like to see public ownership of the water industry & will continue to work with colleagues on this issue.
