Today is Omar Khayyamโs 978th birthday (May 18, 1048 - December 4, 1131) A brilliant scholar, respected for his work in mathematics and astronomy. His rubaiyat are small poems with a long shadow - a reminder that life is too brief to waste. โฐ๐๐

Unsolicited writing advice, no. 268: If youโre planning to set your book in a real- world place, you owe it to your readers to know as much about it as possible. Ideally, go there. Spend time, preferably not as a tourist. Talk to locals. Eat local food. Some things canโt be researched online.
