Celebrating our sonās 21st birthday this evening. Canāt believe he is 21 already. We went to our favorite Chinese restaurant and had fun drinks. I had a mai tai and my son had a zombie. This place used to have the coolest tiki bar until they changed owners. It was called Hawaii Fountain back then.

The water in this pond is a lot lower than normal. It hasnāt been declared a drought hereās yet but I imagine it will happen soon. It is very dry and the leaves are coming down early.

These old stone walls located in the woods at Winding Hills Park are interesting. I find it interesting how there were farms up in these hills at some point.

Jars of pistachio butter and dark chocolate pistachio butter from the French Connection chocolate shop. They are really good on a toasted cinnamon raisin bagel.

It was a beautiful day for a hike today and I needed it to clear my head. I walked about 2 1/2 miles between my morning and evening walks. Looking forward to the weekend.

I went for my nightly walk around town. I like that it is cooler and darker earlier now. I saw this red hibiscus while I was out.

I went to see Hamilton at the movies on Wednesday. I wanted to see what made audiences like it so much. I loved it and have been trying to figure out what Hamilton says to the world in 2025.

I bought some fun coloring books to get through these stressful times. I loved this picture of a pumpkin reading a newspaper so it was the first page I colored. His expression says it all to me. Plus my husband added some little doodles to the newspaper.

There is a house in the next town over that puts up a really elaborate Halloween display each year. They are working on it today and I took a few photos. It is going to be a spooky Alice in Wonderland display. This is just the start of what they do for decorating. Looks cool! šLG

Finally got out for a hike in the woods this week. My husband got stung by a bunch of yellow jackets so we have been staying home. His hand and wrist got so swollen. We are in a drought in my area. The first photo is of a small creek that is almost dried up.

This morning was the first time I got in the woods for a hike this week. I walk almost every day in my town but walks in the woods feel different.

Iām up in Woodstock, NY and visited the Candlestock candle shop. They have this huge drip candle in the center which has been added to for many years. There are beautiful handmade candles here and have been in business since the 60s or 70s

Iām in the mid-Hudson Valley area of New York. Today is the second day of haze from the Canada wildfires here and it is not supposed to let up until Friday. Hazy and there is a slight smoky smell sometimes.

A sign in Cooperstown, NY referring to a James Fenimore Cooper novel. His family were the founders of the town. He based certain locations in his novels on locations in this area. It was kind of cool to check out this area.

More photos inside the underground cave. There are two caverns in this area - Secret Caverns and Howe Caverns. We prefer Secret Caverns. It is more low key and less crowded.
