I'll never learn. Attempted an after-work film screening on Thursday night at Chapter. Mark Jenkin's The Rose of Nevada. As always I nodded off and probably missed a good 15 mins or so. Still, the Q&A afterwards with Gwenno was entertaining (and only left time for two short audience questions 👌)...

Made a flying visit to Lichfield earlier in the week. In the cathedral I found a mini studio set up for professional Byzantine Iconographer Hanna-Leena Ward. Quite mesmerising watching her at work, mixing traditional egg tempura pigments gathered from her travels around the world...

Reckon Alan Parker improved on it with the midpoint location move to New Orleans, the book gets quite samey with all the traipsing around New York (the clandestine chicken-sacrificing voodoo ceremony sequence occurs in Central Park!)...
