Highly recommended. These are both excellent books. I’m struggling to think of a collection of stories that so consistently unnerved me.

Reminder to you, to leave leaves on the ground, where they feed the soil and create habitats. They are not untidy they are vital.

I got back to sleep after 5am leaf blower. I dreamt that I hosted a party attended by old illustrator friends, we got into an argument about their use of AI, it got tense & awkward & then I said “can you all just fuck off now please?” & they all scrambled out as if they couldn’t wait to be asked 🤷🏼‍♂️🫤🥳

It’s 5 in the morning, I can hear someone using a leaf blower somewhere not too far away, it’s also slightly windy. Humans baffle me.

I purchased this card with this beautiful illustration on it from Kemps Bookshop in Malton. I’m not familiar with Tirzah Garwood but I love this illustration and I’ll definitely be checking out more of her work.

Peak fall foliage in Oklahoma's Ouachita mountains. Yes, this is Oklahoma! #photography What is already one of the most beautiful parts of the state absolutely comes alive in the fall. I've been wanting this shot for years, but I either couldn't get there during peak or there were active droughts.

I was in #Whitby for the Literary Festival + visited the archives in the local museum to research the writer #StormJameson who we will republish next year. This ghoulish dried human hand (on display in the museum) points the way through the town. One can see why Bram Stoker’s #Dracula was set here!

My favourite things from the V & A Storehouse East the other week. Ronnie Barker = big hero of mine and they’ve even dragged in and erected a ruddy beautiful ceiling! It’s well worth the visit despite the fact that it’s housed in a building that looks like an IKEA on the outside 🧐👍🏻
