Spending my evening working out where I will placing all the extra ceiling supports. Even though the previous ceiling spent 40 years attached to just these beams with hope and glue and was fine. I am not wired that way and will definitely put an extra 10 meters of timber in.

Me looking at a calendar and seeing it’s Friday:

Full length panels will still fit into the bathroom. I would love to claim this was due to careful planning on my part, but as usual it’s just dumb luck. I did try lifting the ceiling into place by myself but once again the lack of third arm is really noticeable when attempting these jobs.

A pair of original midcentury hanging light brackets I have kept for about 20 years because I liked them but didn’t have anywhere for them. I am just test fitting them and they will definitely be going above the bedside tables.

I think I have reached a natural stopping point for the day. All the internal ply is now done, except for the backs of wardrobes, I am leaving them open incase I need the room to get the bathroom wall sheets in. I suspect there will be a lot of tiling videos being watched over xmas…

I’m enjoying the fact that just a year ago this was the kind of thing that slowed progress and required thought. Now it requires 30 seconds of freehand work with a circular saw to fix.
