This is a great clip. Say no to the future they want. But also actively build the future we want. Honestly, I think that's the part we're really struggling with. In the absence of our own vision to give us direction, we'll still get dragged along with whatever is happening.

It's hard to overstate how huge Mike Myers was to much of Gen X. Adding Austin Powers and So I Married an Axe Murderer, he was so iconically quotable you couldn't escape his lines in the 90s.

I took my teen kids to my brother-in-law’s for an early Christmas dinner tonight. They ended up talking for four hours with their aunt and uncle about books, graphic novels and fanfiction. And we left with a bunch of hand me down books. We forgot the bag of presents.

Books are the BEST gifts for kids. Toys are great. Candy is delightful. Clothes are necessary. But watch kids unwrap a graphic novel and just GET LOST. The chaos fades away, they curl up and relax, and all the manic energy of the holiday takes a nap.

My photo memories just popped this up, 20 years ago today. I'm holding the original PRINCESS ACADEMY alongside the Italian edition. I don't know where I got that tiara. 20 years later so much has changed...because I have bangs now!

Did aliens or time travelers make these paintings? Or did our ancestors 20,000 years ago? Both possibilities seem equally magical and awe-inspiring to me. Art is not a luxury. Creativity is essential to our being.

These are some of the most beautiful art works ever created. It absolutely stills and stuns me to know humans made them 17,000-22,000 years ago. (And they didn't even go to art school! I mean, as far as we know...) We are all capable of so much more than we imagine.

Hi. I transcribe child forensic interviews You know who doesn’t want kids to know the correct names for body parts? The predators that put those kids in a position to need child forensic interviews. Those kids NEVER know the right words for their body parts and it is always a hinderance.

On the one hand, this is correct. On the other hand, it is still correct. #BannedBooks

For people who think book banning isn't a big deal because even if they're not available in libraries and schools, you can still buy them--this is an elitist argument. Most kids ONLY have access to books from their library. Libraries ensure info access for all. Libraries are vital in democracies.

😂😭. Nothing strikes more fear into people who want to control others than those who live in joy. Nothing alarms the humorless more than people who laugh freely. The joyful can't be controlled. You may micromanage nonexistent "genitalia" in picture books but you can't stop me from laughing about it.

It's not a badge of honor when books get banned. It stinks for everyone. For the book creators, who worked hard to create something special that now won't be shared. The kids who miss out. The librarians and teachers who are treated like criminals. And taxpayers who have to pay for this nonsense.

This is NOT normal. It's weird to read a book about a unicorn sitting in paint & make it sexual. The hyper-fixation on non existent genitals & sexualizing benign stories is harmful. The book isn't sexualizing unicorns or kids, the women on the committee are. THIS IS NOT HEALTHY.
